Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 May 2026
These terms govern your use of Folio. By using Folio, you agree to them.
1. About Folio
Folio is a service of Zero Longitude Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17200187). Its registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
We provide tools for UK NHS doctors to plan and improve their specialty training applications — including portfolio scoring, pay calculation, career planning, rota checking, and audit planning.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Folio.
- Folio is designed for qualified medical doctors and those training to become one. We don't restrict access by qualification, but the service is most useful if you are.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- Do not share your account with other people.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at privacy@folio.healthcare.
4. Subscription and payment
Folio offers free features and a Pro subscription at £9.99/month.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Pro access until then.
- We do not offer refunds for partial months.
- If we increase the price, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change takes effect.
5. What Folio is and isn't
Folio is a planning and scoring tool. It is not a substitute for official guidance from NHS England, the General Medical Council, the Royal Colleges, or any other regulator or recruitment body.
Folio's scoring estimates are based on publicly available criteria. Actual scores in any real recruitment round depend on official assessment by the relevant recruitment panel.
Folio is not affiliated with NHS England, the GMC, the Royal Colleges, the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, PHST Recruitment, or any specialty training recruitment office.
We make no guarantees about the outcome of any application you make based on Folio's recommendations.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Folio for any unlawful purpose.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from Folio.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Folio.
- Reverse-engineer any part of the service.
- Use Folio in a way that disrupts or degrades the experience for other users.
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates anyone else's rights.
- Submit real patient data, NHS confidential information, or any third party's personal data to any Folio feature — including AI features.
7. AI features
The Audit Builder uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate audit plan suggestions.
AI suggestions are advisory only. You are responsible for reviewing and adapting any AI-generated content before using it in clinical or professional settings.
Do not submit identifiable patient data, NHS confidential information, or any sensitive personal data to AI features.
8. Intellectual property
The Folio platform — including its design, code, scoring methodology, and written content — is owned by Zero Longitude Ltd.
You retain ownership of content you submit (for example, your portfolio entries and saved audit projects). By submitting content, you grant us a licence to store and process it as necessary to provide the Folio service.
9. Service availability
We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to perform maintenance, deploy updates, or take the service offline temporarily.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice where possible.
10. Termination
You can request account deletion at any time from your account settings.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
User-requested deletions enter a 30-day cooling-off period before permanent deletion is completed. We may retain data where we are required by law to do so (for example, payment records are kept for 7 years under UK tax law).
11. Liability
Folio is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zero Longitude Ltd is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of Folio.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you have paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable UK law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The latest version is always at folio.healthcare/terms.
